The Association for the Advancement of Karatedo (AAK) announced that the first half of a two part Karate Training Camp and Instructors Course will be held on Sunday 09 November 2003 at the 2/F Bramante Piazza Ballroom of the Renaissance Center on Meralco Avenue, Pasig City starting at 1:00 p.m. Several karate clubs and organizations in Luzon have been invited to participate.
These Training Camp and Instructors Course have been organized to acquaint local Karateka on the KOI System in preparation for our hosting of the 13th KOI Karate World Cup on August 2004. To be taken up in the seminar are the latest kumite competition skills and tactics applicable to the new rules promulgated by the World Karate Federation (WKF).
The teaching staff will be headed by Richard Lim Sensei, 5th Dan, a member of the KOI International Teaching Staff and Juan Carlos “Chino” Veguillas Sensei, 4th Dan, a licensed international instructor by the KOI. Kobe Osaka International is the Karate Organization led by Chairman of the World Karate Federation (WKF) Referees Council and also WKF Sports Director Tommy Morris, 8th Dan of Scotland.
Founded in 1991, Kobe Osaka International (KOI) is a non-political karate organization. Its objectives, among others is to spread the practice and enjoyment of Karatedo through international cooperation and friendship amongst people regardless of race or creed, by means of international seminars, training camp and competitions.
Other training camps will be held in Davao City in April 2004 for Mindanao Karateka and in Cebu City on May 2004 for the Visayas Karateka.
